Ordering Tips and FAQs
Order from a computer. Galleries are mobile friendly and you can order from a phone, but it is easier done on a computer. It is also nice to see the images as large as possible.
Use an up-to-date browser. Chrome or Safari are your best bets. Internet Explorer will not work.
Do you provide retouching? Yes. I do my best to address most retouching needs before uploading your gallery, but some images I leave until you reach out. Please inquire about any retouching requests before placing your order.
Check spam after ordering digital files. Your files will be emailed to you and often get auto-sorted into other folders or spam. Reach out if you do not see them, and please download as soon as you receive them. I do review files before sending, so they will not be delivered immediately.
Cropping is possible during the checkout process. Please be sure to check crops before finalizing your order. If I see something amiss I will reach out. I recommend cropping on a computer, not a phone.
Class Photo Details
I do not offer digital versions of the class photo due to online privacy concerns.
For the first ordering window, you will see it built into all print packages.
– If you want to order only a class photo, they are $20.
– If you order a la carte and your order qualifies, I will add the class photo in before sending it to the lab.
– If you cannot see your child’s class photo when viewing their gallery, please email me. Sometimes the gallery platform misses a few students here and there.
A La Carte & Digital Packages
What is the fastest way to get my images?
Digital downloads are the fastest way to get your images. From there you can order from your own printer, and I can provide recommendations. Please know that I cannot guarantee satisfaction from other printers. If you choose to order prints through my lab, the safest thing to do is order as soon as possible. This will ensure that you receive your prints during the first ordering round.
My child has a scratch, bruise, or band-aid in their portraits. Can you remove it?
Retouching is something I love in the right scenario. There is no cookie-cutter fee, as each case is very specific. I encourage any parent with a child who has a scrape, band-aid, or other temporary marker to consider carefully before removing it. Many things can be addressed if desired. Please email before placing your order with any retouching concerns.
Ordering for siblings?
Please inquire via email about combining galleries for full gallery digital purchases.
Please include your children’s names and their classes so I can easily look them up.
When will I receive my prints?
Please reference the ordering windows on the first page. You are welcome to check in about rush delivery if prints are still offered.
My child is not smiling or their usual self in these photos.
It is important to remember that these are kids, and photos are a big deal to some of them. Each part of photos can be a new thing.
– new people (myself, any assistants, parent volunteers)
– a big black camera (most kids are used to phones)
– backdrop and lighting
– clothes they may not normally wear
You can coach your child, but the reality is that they feel how they feel in this situation. I do my best to help them relax and settle into a few moments of fun and interaction. If they smile and have fun, wonderful. If they are shy or reserved, no big deal. If they cry and are not ready, I do not force them to sit for me.
Do I ask them to pose? A little. But they are young. So if they need to move, be silly, or do whatever they do to be comfortable, we let them.
I encourage all parents to embrace their child as they are: silly, shy, stoic, and more. They will not be this way forever. They will grow in confidence and find their true selves in their own time. Many kids I’ve photographed over the years come to me with very little expression and remember me the following year, and we get different results each year. It is part of their story.

A picture day session with me looks a little different from the one most parents remember.
Each child gets a real greeting, a moment to settle, and quiet direction that feels closer to a chat than a pose. Some kids warm up fast. Some need a minute. Some will never love a camera pointed at them, and that is fine. The portrait that comes out looks like your child, not a version they had to perform.
